Dextr v1.2 Released
Partial dates, contact sharing, localized address formats, bug fixes & more!
Dextr v1.2 is rolling out now and includes a number of new features, improvements, and bug fixes! Below are a few highlights from this release…
Partial First Met Dates
Prior to using Dextr, it’s not likely you remember the exact day you first met someone. Now it’s possible to set just a month & year or just the year for the first met date. These values will also show on People tab when sorting by first met date.
Middle Name Support & Person Form Cleanup
We somehow completely forgot that people had middle names 😅, and thus failed to include a field for that on the Person screen. This has been added, and we’ve modified the form to hide middle name/job title/organization/nickname fields by default to save on space. You can quickly add these fields though by tapping the corresponding + button.
New Menu Buttons
We’re pretty excited about the Liquid Glass UI refresh coming in Apple’s OS 26 updates slated for the fall. We’ve already been testing Dextr with the betas and sorting out what changes will need to be made to support Liquid Glass on day 1. In preparation for that, you’ll start to see updates to the Dextr UI over the next few months.
The first change is condensing many of the Person/Event actions into a single menu button in the navigation bar. This change also allowed us to add more actions, including the new Share Contact feature on the Person Details screen.
Everything Else
Copy & paste numbers on Keypad, localized address formatting for Places outside of the US, performance improvements, and bug fixes—there’s a lot more to v1.2 so be sure to check out the Full Release Notes.
What’s Next?
The Dextr roadmap is constantly in flux as we get feature suggestions & bug reports, so we don’t bother publishing it. That being said, we know for certain that v1.3 will include one of the most requested features: #tags—giving you a powerful new way to organize your library.
Stay tuned…
